Moderation FAQ & contact
How a picture gets from your kitchen table to the gallery, who looks at it on the way, and how to change your mind afterwards.
Who reviews the artwork?expand_more
A person does. Every submission is opened, read and looked at by a human before anything is published. Nothing goes up automatically, and there is no algorithm deciding what appears.
How long does it take?expand_more
It depends on how many submissions arrive. This is a small project run by people with other jobs, so we would rather not promise a deadline we cannot keep. You will get an email either way — when it goes live, or if we cannot use it.
What gets turned down?expand_more
Anything showing a child's face or identifying details. Copies of cartoon characters, logos or other people's artwork, which we cannot legally republish. Work that was clearly made by an adult. And anything frightening or unkind, because small children browse this gallery unsupervised.
Can other people contact my child through the site?expand_more
No. There are no comments, no messages, no profiles and no accounts. There is no mechanism on this site by which one visitor can reach another, and we do not publish anything that would let someone find a child offline.
Can I have the artwork taken down later?expand_more
Yes, at any time, for any reason or none. Email info@kidsartcorner.ca and we will remove it. If you also want the original email and photo deleted from our mailbox, say so and we will do that too.
Who owns the artwork?expand_more
The child does. Sending it to us does not transfer anything — you are lending it to us to display. We will never sell it, license it, print it on merchandise, or use it to advertise anything.
Are there adverts or tracking?expand_more
No adverts and no tracking. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our host sees IP addresses in order to serve pages and block attacks, and the typefaces currently load from Google Fonts — both are explained on the privacy policy.
